Available now versus announced

BYD lists Premium and Performance grades in New Zealand. GWM lists Cannon Hi4-T PHEV as Coming Soon and Price TBC. A buyer with a replacement deadline should treat that timing difference as a commercial constraint, not a minor specification row.

Towing, payload and rural 4WD

Shark 6 Performance and the announced Cannon Hi4-T publish 3,500kg braked towing; Shark Premium publishes 2,500kg. GWM also announces mechanical 4WD, low range and a locking rear differential. Final Cannon payload and NZ grade detail still need confirmation before a tray, canopy or trailer calculation can be fair.

Electric route and worksite power

Shark 6 and Cannon Hi4-T both publish V2L. Their announced electric ranges—up to 100km and 115km respectively—use NEDC. Model the chargeable daily kilometres, tool load, petrol use and charging tariff rather than converting either laboratory figure into a savings promise.

Price the complete decision

Use Shark 6's current written offer against the GWM only once a final NZ price exists. Include ORC, tow kit, canopy, charging hardware, servicing, warranty conditions, delivery date and downtime cover.
