Which carries and tows more?
Tasman publishes 1,013–1,365kg payload and 3,500kg towing. Suitable Hilux diesel and 48V grades also tow 3,500kg, but payload varies and BEV/PreRunner tow ratings are lower. Use exact finished mass and tow-ball load.
Tub, tray and powertrain choice
Tasman's large published tub can suit builders carrying boxed tools and materials; both brands have chassis routes. Hilux adds diesel, 48V assistance and BEV. Measure actual access and load dimensions before assuming larger is more useful.
