Ranger spans single, super and double cabs, while the current Navara range is double cab. Builders needing a long tray or a specialist service body should settle that requirement before comparing trim or infotainment.
Towing and usable payload
Suitable grades in both families publish 3,500kg braked towing. Nissan publishes one tonne for SL automatic 4x4 and notes payload is variant specific. Add people, canopy, racks, tools, tow equipment and tow-ball load before comparing the remaining margin.
4WD and rural work
Navara SL and ST use part-time Easy 4WD; ST-X and PRO-4X add full-time high-range capability through Super 4WD. Ranger's system varies materially by grade. Confirm modes, tyres, differential equipment and rural dealer access on the exact pair.
